We will address plight of farmers, NASA

National Supper Alliance (NASA) brigade has promised to address the tea and dairy farmers’ plight and revert the management of land to Counties from the National government should they be elected on 8th august general elections.

Speaking today at Kapkatet Stadium in Bureti, NASA presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Bomet Governor Isaac
Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka told South Rift residents that they would improve the tea and milk earnings.

Raila Odinga who was briefly interrupted by a section of the crowd by walking away when he started to address the peaceful rally said that tea and milk prices would improve, education from standard one to form four would be free.

The NASA flag bearer called on the residents to vote for him promising to change and bring down the cost of living.

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto said that land lease under the multinational tea estates would expire in 2020 and would want all the land to be reverted to the Kipsigis community to be
managed by the County governments.

“We have agreed with the expected government under Raila, that we would have the National cake shared out with the Counties with 45 percent revenue being given to the counties (mashinani),” Ruto said.

He said they want more resources to be devolved to the Counties as this would address the suffering of the local who want more services near them.
