Principal records statement over exam leakage

The  Principal of  Kapsowar Girls’ Secondary School  on Thursday recorded a statement with the police in Kapsowar over allegations of exam leakage.

It was alleged that the principal of the national school received the chemistry paper via WhatsApp from a Mr. David Wafula, a teacher at St. Teresa secondary school in Kitale.

Confirming the incident, Marakwet West Police Boss, Apollo Onyoni said police have launched investigations to establish whether the principal had leaked the exam to the students.

He added that they had already confiscated her mobile phone which would be critical to the investigations.

The County Director of Education, Joseph Wamocho  said the matter had been taken up by his seniors at the Ministry headquarters.

He however, termed it as an isolated matter giving an assurance that the integrity of the examination has not been affected.

Wamocho said a comprehensive report would be given once investigations were complete.
