A clinical officer who allegedly murdered his university student girlfriend was yesterday arraigned before a Siaya high court charged with the offence.

Collins Oluoch Ogweno, a clinical officer who was working at the Nightingale hospital in Kisumu appeared before Justice Aaron Makau but denied committing the offence.

The 25 year old man was charged that on December 9, 2017 at Bondo Township, Siaya County, he planned and murdered the deceased, Valerie Amondi Odhiambo.

The deceased, 23 years, was a third year student at the Bondo based Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Her body was recovered in a guest house where they had retired with the suspect on the fateful night. The two were said to have been in a relationship and had sired a child.
