Six year old boy crashed by speeding motorist in Ngong town

A sombre mood  on Thursday  engulfed Ngong Township Primary school in Kajiado County after a six year old boy was killed by a speeding motorist along Kiserian –Ngong road.

The pre-primary pupil at Ngong Township was said to have been crossing the road towards his home when he was knocked down.

The  Kajiado North Police Boss, George  Sedah  confirmed the incident adding, “It is very unfortunate to lose a very young life through careless driving on the road”.

Sedah said the accident happened as the children were crossing the road after coming from school at noon.

He said the killer vehicle’s driver is a well known author and writer Wallah Bin Wallah.

“Wallah is being held at Ngong Police station to allow police carry out investigations,” said Sedah.

“He will be arraigned in court next week, since the vehicle must go through inspection process,” he confirmed.

He noted that the minor was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital Ngong branch, next to the accident scene but was declared dead on arrival.

The police boss said the body was moved to Kikuyu hospital mortuary.

Sedah cautioned motorists to be careful on the road to prevent accidents. “Every driver knows the rules of the road while approaching a shopping centre, any town or schools where pupils are expected to be crossing the road,” he said.

The OCPD noted that many motorists do not observe speed limits thus endangering lives of other road users especially pedestrians.
