ICT to drive Big Four agenda
The Incoming Information Communication, Technology (ICT) and Innovation Principal Secretary (PS), Jerome Ochieng’ has said the government will leverage on ICT to enable deliver Jubilee’s Big Four Agendas.
Ochieng’ said there is public expectation on need to attain affordable universal health care and vibrant manufacturing sector to improve standards of living and create employment, adding that technology is key in the attainment of affordable House and food security.
The PS who made the remarks at the Teleposta in Nairobi when he took over from outgoing PS, Victor Kyalo said, ICT will be integrated in the implementation of the Big four agenda to facilitate efficient and effective processes and data sharing to achieve the program objectives.
“There will be need for team work for the success of the government programs””, he said and called on public officers to provide timely reports on progress of implementation.
Jerome Ochieng has been the Director of the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) at the National Treasury and has had over 17 years work experience in the field of information and community technology
The Former PS thanked the team that worked with him, saying they had achieved some of the milestones in the sector.
Eng. Kyalo, who has served the ICT for the last two years, is a Communications Engineer with wide experience in systems design, integration and project management.
He congratulated the incoming PS, saying he will be working with a good team at the ministry.
The State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunications (BT), Principal Secretary, Sammy Itemere who was flanked by other senior staff at the ministry also attended the event and welcomed the incoming Principal Secretary.
