Bureti ECDE teachers in uproar over staff hiring process

Trained Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers in Bureti have called for a free and fair recruitment exercise of ECDE teachers in Kericho County.
Speaking to press in Buret town the teachers led by Peter Mutai said the ECDE teachers from the area had not been accorded enough slots with only 23 vacancies being availed across the sub county which has a total of 115 schools.
The ECDE teachers who had turned up at the Litein sub County council hall for the recruitment exercise Thursday found that they had been locked out of the exercise only after a few select schools were given one or two slots.
Mutai further told the press that the recruitment exercise was not advertised and that they only got wind of the information through their colleagues.
“We have all the documents required for the job opportunity but unfortunately we have been locked out without valid reasons as to why we have not been given that opportunity,” Mutai lamented.
