Laikipia Governor makes appointments
Laikipia County Governor Ndiritu Mureithi has appointed Centum Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, James Mworia Mwirigi, to head the County Development Authority (CDA) as a non-Executive Chairman.
Other appointments made to sit in the CDA are Borana Ranch Manager, Michael Dyer, former Ambassador, Johnson Weru, Educationist Margaret Lesuunda, Lawyer, Faith Waigua and Development expert Joseph Ngugi Mutura.
The County enterprise board will be chaired by a former East Africa Cables Chief Executive Officer who is the current Nyahururu – based Countryside Dairy chairman George Chege Mwangi.
Members to this board are Monica MasianoLenanyoke, Joseph Kariringa Lerina and Daniel Thuo.
Doris Gatwiri Mworia, Johnson Kipkosgei Cheruiyot, Emma Kaburo Kirima, Elizabeth Wanjiru Kiondo, Henry Machira Muguongo, David Gathuka Ndiritu, Patrick Leresi Karmushu and James Ntungulo have been appointed to sit in the budget board as members.
The appointments are contained in the Kenya Gazette published on July 6, 2018 and reflect all-inclusive representation of the cosmopolitan nature of the County.
The Governor in his efforts to reform the health sector has appointed James Wachira, George Kamatu and Sospeter Kipishi to Chair the Nanyuki, Nyahururu and Doldol hospitals’ boards.
Last week the County health sector saw new changes with appointments of Timothy Panga and Doctor Patrick Waihenya as the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) for Nanyuki Training and Referral and Nyahururu hospitals respectively.
Dr.Panga is a Pharmaceutical consultant while Dr.Waihenya has been serving as the County director of medical services.
The Governor has also appointed, Dr. Christine Lekurtut, Jane Meriwas and Peter Mwangi as members of the County environment Committee.
