KMTC gives Kitui County new buses 




The  Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kitui and Mwingi campuses are the latest recipients of new buses to assist students enhance clinical training placement.

The vehicles were officially handed over by the KMTC Board Chairman, Prof. Philip Kaloki to the Principals, Ms. Mary Kibui (Mwingi Campus) and Ms. Evelyn Nyamai (Kitui Campus) in Mwingi  on Monday.

Prof. Kaloki said that the KMTC headquarters fully funded the acquisition of the buses while the World Bank sponsors the enrolled community nursing programme in eight KMTC campuses.

He  assured the students that the KMTC Management was keen on ensuring that necessary infrastructure is in place to enhance their training adding that the bus will ease their movement to clinical areas.

Emphasizing the College’s mandate in supporting the Government towards achievement of the Universal Health Coverage goals, one of the big four agendas, Professor Kaloki said that they have an important role of developing human resource for health.

Prof. Kaloki also thanked the County Government of Kitui led by the Governor Charity Ngilu for the exceptional support accorded to the campuses especially for allocating funds in this Financial Year for construction of classrooms at Mwingi Campus and addition of lecturers to both campuses.

The  KMTC  CEO, Prof. Michael Kiptoo reminded the students to serve the public diligently.

Prof. Kiptoo commended the students for the good performance in their studies and urged them to keep working hard because the country had a lot of expectations on them.
