A calf suckling from a donkey at Mt. Kulal grazing area in Marsabit  County  on Wednesday March 15, 2017  after the mother failed to yield any milk owing to luck of pasture and water occasioned by severe prolonged drought. The situation is so dire that over 70 per cent of livestock, the main source of livelihood for local pastoralist communities has perished. The sad state of affairs has left nearly 200 thousands residents without a source o food and are now relying on relief food from the government and other agencies.
