Coast region term two secondary school games kick off in Mombasa

Coast region secondary school term two ‘A’games started on Thursday at Shanzu Teachers College and Shimo la Tewa High in Mombasa County.

National girls’ netball champions Kaya Tiwi of Kwale showed no mercy in their opening game when they hammered Lake Kenyatta School of Lamu 90-1.
The game played on a slippery ground following early morning downpour saw Tiwi’s Doreen Ocheing, Meldo Oguda and Margaret Owino completely dominated their Lamu counterparts.
In another netball match, Mwakitawa of Taita Taveta comfortably won their match after beating Kilifi mixed school 61-7. Mombasa’s Miritini Secondary School beat Sane girls of Tana River 41-16.
In handball boys, Barani of Kilifi narrowly defeated Shimo la Tewa of Mombasa 9-7. Shimo la Tewa won their second match by beating Samburu of Kwale 14-8. In handball girls, Shimba Hills of Kwale had easy time against Kajembe of Mombasa by winning 28-4.
The three-day games will enter semi finals stage on Friday and the Finals will take place on Saturday.
