Curtains fall for a veteran journalist

A veteran journalist in Nakuru, Michael Wandera is dead.

According to his 27 year old son, Jasmin Bolt, his father has been ailing with pneumonia for the last one year and has been in and out of hospital for treatment.

Wandera was found dead  on Monday morning at his home in Manyani estate.

Bolt said funeral arrangements are ongoing and his father will be laid to rest in Budalang’i.

The late Wandera, 60, who has been a sports journalist for Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) for the last 30 years has left behind a widow, three sons and a daughter.

Until his death, Wandera was determined to work, his last assignment being coverage on Sunday of the Gor vs Tusker Super Cup football match at Afraha stadium.

His body is lying at the Nakuru county mortuary.
