Huduma Centre to be built in Vihiga
Vihiga residents will soon enjoy closer government services after the National government promised to build Huduma centre in the region.
Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public service, Youth and Gender Affairs Sicily Kariuki said the one stop centre will enable the residents to easily access government services at their convenience.
“The government has built Huduma centers across the Country, and Vihiga County is one of the areas to benefit from the projected plan to bring services closer to the locals,” said Kariuki.
She said the government has earmarked the area as the beneficiary and put aside funds in this fiscal year to complete the project.
Kariuki added that a technical team from the Ministry will this week visit the area on a fact finding mission before work commences.
She asked the area County commissioner Pauline Dola to work with the team to its successful completion for the benefit of the locals.
“Madam County Commissioner, please work with the technical team who will visit the site to ensure the project is completed within the next three months,” said Kariuki.
Kariuki, who was speaking on Sunday at Nyang’ori Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) church in Hamisi Sub County during National Women’s congress, was accompanied by CS (Water) Eugene Wamalwa.
She asked the residents to shun politicians who were out to divide them on ethnic lines and instead preach peace during election period.
The CS also appealed to youth and women to make use of affirmative funds the government has allocated to improve their welfare.
The two Cabinet Secretaries had represented President Uhuru Kenyatta at the function and said the president will soon visit the county to launch multi-billion water project in the area.
The CS also challenged Kenyans to reduce gender based violence which she said had negatively affected women and children.
