The one day event saw single figure handicap Joseph Wahome win the coveted Captain’s trophy with 34 points. He also bagged an eighth acre plot at Laibon Industrial Park.

The annual event attracted Empire Realtors as their main sponsor with Sport Pesa as the co-sponsors of the event.

A big field of 200 golfers from different golf clubs around the country were drawn to battle it out for the top prize in the tournament at the tough course.

“Our course is usually tough but it has been well prepared specifically for the tournament which is one of our major events’ said the club’s Captain Martin Karanja.

Part of the par 72 course had been closed for two month to pave way for renovation and was reopened yesterday as a sign of appreciation from the captain of the club.

During the tournament, Joseph Mugo won in the men’s category with 34 points handicap 18 while John Gitau Henry Mwaura took the second and third place, respectively.

The ladies also displayed sterling performances with Susan Kanyora emerging the winner at 32 points handicap 10 and Dorcas Njogu winning the Guest lady category. Others were Margaret Kamau and Petty Kigwe who won the second and third place respectively.
