Sang’alo Institute To Offer Specialized Courses In Agriculture
Speaker of Bungoma County Assembly John Makali has revealed that plans are underway to make Sang’alo Institute a centre of excellence in agriculture.
Makali who is also chairman of the institute said that the institution is going to offer specialized courses in agriculture to assist the county improve in agriculture.
He was speaking at Sang’alo Technical Institute on Saturday during the graduation of 300 students who had completed their diploma in various fields.
He said that courses related to soil testing and dairy farming will be offered at a higher level to allow graduates get skills that will assist the county government in agricultural productivity.
The speaker said that Bungoma county government was committed towards making the institution a center of excellence in agriculture.
Makali said that the Institute intends to offer degree courses through partnerships with Universities that offer courses related to agriculture.
Speaking during the same function, Bungoma county government minister of education Beril Mutekhele said that Bungoma county government was committed to improving education standards at primary and secondary levels and tertiary institutions.
She asked all education stakeholders to work together to improve the education standards which have continued to deteriorate over the years.
